Birth at home in six snapshots
In one of her recent posts, the photographer posted six photos of a mom giving birth at home. As the young mother said, she gave birth to her baby in her bed, exactly where she had been sleeping and resting a few hours before.
“And just the night before…they had been resting and sleeping in this very bed. And then, in the early morning hours…she began laboring in this very bed. And then they all snuggled up together after birth to bond in this very bed. To nourish, nurture, and rest.
So simple, isn’t it? The bright midmorning sun was pouring into their bedroom.
There are still moments when I’m sitting on my couch or resting in my bed…and I remember back to the day my own baby was born into my home. There’s something so sacred and mundane about that reality, isn’t there? That we can birth in the very same places we love, rest, fight, clean, and dance in…just like humans have been doing for millennia before,” Monet wrote in her post.
